About This Project

Why This Site Exists

Con Edison is a regulated monopoly serving 3.4 million customers with no alternative provider. When a monopoly fabricates billing records, ignores its customers, and weaponizes shutoff threats against people who question their bills, the normal market correction — taking your business elsewhere — doesn't exist. Public accountability is the only mechanism left.

ConEdCriminals.com is a public accountability project. It documents Con Edison's systematic violations of its legal obligations as a regulated public utility, backed by billing records, email correspondence, phone call logs, appointment records, and formal complaint filings. The evidence comes from a meticulously documented case in Brooklyn, but the patterns it reveals are systemic.

Who Created This

This site was created by a Brooklyn homeowner who has been engaged in a billing dispute with Con Edison since November 2023. After more than two years of documented interactions — including formal complaints to ConEd, the New York Department of Public Service (NYPSC), and the New York State Speaker of the Assembly — with no meaningful resolution, this project was launched to hold Con Edison publicly accountable and to connect with other affected customers.

Methodology

Every claim on this site is based on one or more of the following documented sources:

  • Con Edison billing records as displayed on ConEd's own customer portal
  • Email correspondence sent to and from ConEd email addresses
  • Phone call logs with dates and durations
  • Scheduled appointment records
  • Formal complaint filings with ConEd and the NYPSC
  • Documentation provided to elected officials

The original complaint letter (August 2024) and January 2026 addendum are available as reference documents and contain the source data for all billing tables, email logs, call logs, and appointment records presented on this site.
